Kaldewei-Design made by Sottsass Associati
"A bathtub offers even greater relaxation if it is ergonomically designed with clear, simple lines. That is why we have deliberately separated our premium-line bathtubs from short-lived fads and fashions. Kaldewei's Premium Line creates bathrooms where the bathtub is the focus of the room, where bathers can experience a harmonious union between function and pleasure."
To Ettore Sottsass, head of the Milan-based design studio Sottsass Associati, one of the most renowned design companies in the world, the practical use of individual items is always of the utmost importance. This also applies to bathtubs in Kaldewei's Premium Line, which was designed by the Sottsass studio for Franz Kaldewei GmbH & Co. KG. In particular, this includes the KUSATSU POOL, an extra-deep bathtub that is based on Japanese bathing culture, and the MEGA DUO, notable for the octagonal shape of the inside and the optional oval, square or hexagonal shape of the outside. The CENTRO DUO is striking in its elegant, understated simplicity, and is available with a wide range of contours and panels. The two puristically designed shower trays MEGAPLAN and RONDEZZA are eye-catching with their clear functionalism and plain shapes.
The numerous design awards that Kaldewei has received for bathtubs and shower trays designed by Sottsass Associati bear witness to the success of this concept.
