With much personal devotion and the greatest of care, this tradition-steeped Basel hotel has been restored to its original
state from 1844. Following a method developed by architect Christian Lang and restorer Stefan Buess, the original building
fabric was uncovered in order to painstakingly reconstruct the many small architectural details while respecting the original
structure. These fi ndings were then applied to the concept for the hotel bathrooms, in collaboration with interior designer
Eric Reichenbach.
