Meisterstücke: KALDEWEI expands premium segment

Ahlen, March 2015. – One year after the successful market launch of the KALDEWEI Meisterstücke, the multi award-winning product line has been extended with two exclusive bathtubs. In developing them, KALDEWEI entered into a creative collaboration with illustrious star designer Arik Levy, and upcoming designer, Anke Salomon. The result is two completely new design concepts that write a further chapter of the KALDEWEI Meisterstücke success story. KALDEWEI offers greater flexibility and rich diversity with the two and three-sided Meisterstück variants for wall-mounting and corner installation.

The KALDEWEI Meisterstücke stand for a new generation of premium designer bathtubs and washbasins made of KALDEWEI steel enamel. Enamelled trims in a single, seamless material make the Meisterstücke into unique objects of modern bathroom culture. They can be harmoniously integrated into the bathroom architecture, or be strikingly set in scene as sublimely beautiful solo performers.

Extraordinary design concepts by illustrious designers

International renowned designer Arik Levy devised a self-contained design vocabulary with the new KALDEWEI Meisterstück Emerso. This free-standing bathtub generates a special tension owing to the unique composition of surfaces, shapes and radii. The special feature of this one-person bathtub is tits rim that curves in on itself, like a twirled ribbon of silk, allowing the eye to wander infinitely. This Meisterstück is a veritable masterpiece – in both artistic and technical terms. KALDEWEI accentuates the consistent implementation of the new Emerso design concept with a matching washbasin made of KALDEWEI steel enamel, also designed by Arik Levy. With a rim that curves gently inwards, the Meisterstück Emerso washbasin is the masterly counterpart of the bathtub of the same name. The Meisterstück Incava by KALDEWEI is equally poised, but takes a completely different design approach. Designer Anke Salomon has based the shape of this bathtub on natural, fluid contours. A tapering enamelled trim, combined with generously curving radii, conveys an exceptional sense of lightness.

Diverse installation options for KALDEWEI Meisterstücke

Specialist planners and developers greatly value individuality and flexibility. While the free-standing KALDEWEI Meisterstücke already provided the best conditions for creating a striking atmosphere in the bathroom, thanks to their two or three-sided trim, the Meisterstück Conoduo and Meisterstück Centro Duo can now also be excellently wall-mounted or installed in corners. These additional fit-out options have already been warmly welcomed by the exclusive 5-star hotel, Schloss Elmau, whose KALDEWEI fittings include the Meisterstück Centro Duo with two-sided trim.

All KALDEWEI Meisterstücke wed the precision of state-of-the-art manufacturing engineering with the superiority of the material used – KALDEWEI steel enamel – to produce a coherent, seamless design. Within the shortest space of time, the new Meisterstück bathtubs by KALDEWEI broke all records: mere months after they were launched, these free-standing bathtubs with enamelled trim had won more awards than any other KALDEWEI bathtub model. The latest accolades are the “Interior Innovation Award 2015 – Best of Best” from the German Design Council, and the “iF Design award 2015” for the KALDEWEI Meisterstück Conoduo.
